Brief Update: Europe is now closed, closing down across the board by at least 2%, with the CAC 40 down 2.42% and the DAX -2.28%. Their VIX (V2X) popped like we reported in the morning, to 22, up 23% in a day. S&P Futures (ES) are off their lows, but don’t be surprised if we retest those lows. Currently ES is down -16.45 handles at 1637.75 with 1.12MM minis traded. Session low is 1635.25. Bonds are bid, with the 10 Year at 2.754%. Gold continues to climb, currently at 1417/oz. Oil has popped to a 2013 high of 109.32.
VIX is seeing big lots today. Spot VIX is at 16.25 (+8.41%). Session high is 16.56 which came at open. Session low is 15.82. October contracts active. September 14 Puts very active with 56k contracts traded.
