NYSE Holiday Schedule 2017

Common questions from people are, “Is the market open today?” and, “Is the stock market closed today?” Since there are holidays, half-days, and partial holidays for the NYSE throughout the year, people need to know the holiday schedule at the very beginning of the year.

Date Day Status

Apart from these fixed holidays, there might be some more NYSE holiday closings for the year 2017 due to extraordinary circumstances. For example, if the President of the United States dies, then the NYSE will select a day of mourning (typically the day of the funeral) and will be closed on this day. The NYSE may also be closed due to some unforeseen circumstances, such as technical/system failures, extraordinary market volatility, natural disasters, wars, and more.
