This Afternoon, the Australian sharemarket finished Friday's session 0.3 per cent higher at 6634.1 to make it five straight weeks of gains.
The benchmark index started the day in a subdued mood, before BHP and Rio Tinto turned around their early losses and joined the big four banks and Macquarie Group in the black.
The ASX 200 added 0.5 per cent for the week and is moving back towards nine-month highs. It is within 50 points of where it started the year. Here were Friday's biggest movers.

Cannabis and its derivatives are on their way to being more widely recognised for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits following the drug’s reclassification this week as a non-narcotic.
The most widely-used illicit drug lost its status as one of the world’s most dangerous when members of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) agreed to remove it from Schedule IV of a control treaty signed in 1961 by 73 countries.
The Vienna-based commission voted 27-25 to reschedule cannabis and cannabis resin within the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, with the US, UK, Germany and South Africa among those countries in favour of the move, while nations such as Brazil, China, Russia and Pakistan were among those opposed.

Across Asia, China stocks fell on Friday, weighed down by escalating Sino-U.S. trade tensions, but were set for weekly gains on the back of data that pointed to a recovery in the world’s second-largest economy.
The CSI300 index fell 0.4% to 5,038.18 points at the end of the morning session, while the Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.4% to 3,430.03 points.
Leading the decline, the CSI300 financials index dropped 1.8% by midday.
The United States on Thursday added China’s top chipmaker, SMIC, and oil giant CNOOC to a blacklist of alleged Chinese military companies, a move likely to escalate tensions with Beijing before President-elect Joe Biden takes office.
Chinese state media warned that some damage to Sino-U.S. ties is “beyond repair” amid a new wave of counter-China measures by the Trump administration.
