Happy Friday!
Finally Melbourne is putting on some hot and sunny weather…
Although the holidays are over for us, there's nothing better than a few drinks on a hot Friday night.
Enjoy your weekend!
Across markets…
This Afternoon, the Australian sharemarket climbed to its highest since February as miners steered stocks to their best week since mid-November on hopes for more US stimulus after the Democrats swept the Georgia Senate run-off races.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index gained 45.9 points, or 0.7 per cent, to 6757.9 points on Friday, lifting its weekly advance to 2.6 per cent.
Among the top performers on Friday were bank stocks, with Commonwealth climbing 1.2 per cent and Westpac adding 1.5 per cent.
Other leaders on Friday were Afterpay (up 6.6 per cent), CSL (up 1.9 per cent) and Aristocrat Leisure (up 2.9 per cent).
While the big miners retreated on Friday, they enjoyed a stellar week as the iron ore price rallied to $US171 a tonne and copper prices pushed to an eight-year high.
All three of the big Pilbara producers hit record highs on Thursday.

Two drill rigs are back in action on the Conserrat gold-silver project with E2 Metals (ASX: E2M) testing a mineralised shoot that was discovered just before Christmas.
The company says it will also focus this year on coming up with other discoveries.
In late December, E2 reported drilling at the Mia prospect within Conserrat had intersected a shoot 175m down hole which returned 4.1m at 1 gram per tonne gold and 644g/t silver, with the mineralised shoot being open in all directions.
E2 interpreted this intercept to be the new mineralised shoot at the intersection of the already identified Lara vein with a parallel structure.
Another hole 40 intersected two discrete mineralised structures.
One, over 2m, assayed at 43g/t gold and 9g/t silver, including 1.2m at a very high 72g/t gold and 14 g/t silver. Mineralisation began at 21m down hole.
This hole also returned 6.1m at 4.6g/t gold and 28g/t silver from 68m, including 1m at 26g/t gold and 88g/t silver.

Across Asia, China stocks retreated from a 13-year high on Friday, as investors booked profits following a strong rally amid worries over Sino-U.S. tensions.
The CSI300 index fell 1.0%, to 5,458.06 points at the end of the morning session, while the Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.6%, to 3,553.96 points.
Trump administration officials are expected to discuss a proposed expansion of an executive order banning U.S. investment in alleged Chinese military companies at a Thursday afternoon meeting.
The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Kelly Craft, will visit Taiwan on Jan. 13-15 for meetings with senior Taiwanese officials, the U.S. mission to the U.N. said on Thursday, prompting China to warn they were playing with fire.
Leading the decline on Friday, the CSI300 consumer staples index and the CSI300 materials index dropped 2.6% and 1.9%. Including session’s losses, both indexes are still up 8.2% and 12% this year, respectively.
