The S&P/ASX 200 advanced for a fifth straight session on Monday, adding 0.7 per cent, or 47.8 points, to 6993. This is the market’s longest winning streak since April.
Deterra Royalties rose 3 per cent to $4.45 after reporting its quarterly royalty receipts. BHP added 1.1 per cent to $39.10 and Rio Tinto climbed 1.1 per cent to $98.92.
Ioneer firmed 1.8 per cent to 57¢ after signing a binding offtake agreement with the Prime Planet Energy & Solutions joint venture between Toyota and Panasonic.
United Malt declined 17.2 per cent to $3.04 after warning that earnings for FY22 are expected to be below previous guidance.
Galan Lithium (ASX: GLN) and Lithium Australia (ASX: LIT) have discovered a new outcropping pegmatite with a strike length of more than 500 metres at the Greenbushes South project in Western Australia.
The joint venture partners said there are strong indications the pegmatite remains open and continues along strike, and has similar macroscopic mineralogy to those at the nearby Greenbushes lithium mine.
Galan said it had received the first batch of 65 geochemical assays from soil sampling grids traversing the initial pegmatite discovery.
Results are still pending for a further 170 assays from the soil program and 15 rock chip samples taken from earlier mapped pegmatite outcrops.
