How was your Monday?
Some news from the battery space…
UBS analysts forecast that LFP batteries could make up 40% of the global battery market by 2030.
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) offers high current rating, long cycle life, good thermal stability and enhanced safety without the need for any cobalt.
Tesla is already transitioning half of its new fleet to LFP batteries…
This certainly bodes well for our portfolio company ASX:AEV, that has recently signed an MOU in relation to its Wonarah Project with global LFP cathode manufacturer, Aleees and the NT Government.
Across Markets…
The S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.3 per cent to 6456.9 on Monday, weighed down by the consumer staples and technology sectors.
The energy sector was buoyed by an increase in oil prices as OPEC+ mulls cutting oil production; Ampol added 1.4 per cent to $2916, Woodside Energy firmed 1.2 per cent to $32.05 and Santos climbed 1.1 per cent to $7.17.
Core Lithium fell 4.1 per cent to $1.06 after completing its $100 million placement at $1.03 a share.
European stock futures fell amid concerns over economic and political turmoil in the UK, and as the challenges facing Credit Suisse weighed on sentiment.
December contracts on the Euro Stoxx 50 Index fell as much as 2.4 per cent in Asian morning trading hours and FTSE 100 futures declined as much as 1.8 per cent before both pared losses.
Volumes were thin amid holidays in China, South Korea and Sydney.

Australia could soon follow in the footsteps of other leading countries that use nuclear energy as part of their power mix, after nine coalition senators backed laws to remove the nation’s nuclear energy ban.
The nine coalition senators moved to introduce a Private Senators Bill, arguing nuclear power is one of the safest forms of energy and will play a vital role in achieving the nation’s emission targets moving forward.
Nationals senator Matt Canavan said the “mood is shifting” on nuclear energy, as the public and other politicians feel the need to explore all energy options for the future.
The ban on nuclear energy originated in 1998 when the former Howard government needed to trade it off to get parliamentary support for the construction of a new, nuclear reactor for medical purposes at Lucas Heights.
Senator Canavan said the appetite for nuclear energy has grown since the government signed on to buy nuclear-powered submarines.
