Bitcoin has tumbled back under $20,000 this afternoon to trade at $US19,982, and reached as low as $US19,841 over the past 24 hours, according to Coindesk.
Bitcoin’s total market cap is now $US381 billion, with $US624 million of the coins traded on the blockchain over the past 24 hours.
Across Markets…
The best performer on the day was sports betting business Pointsbet, which finished up 12.4 per cent. However, it’s still down 77.4 per cent over the past year.
Buru Energy (ASX: BRU) is anticipating “record revenues” with oil lifting from the Ungani field beginning today from Wyndham Port in Western Australia’s north.
Oil from the Ungani field is trucked to Wyndham Port where it is then lifted onto a tanker for transport to South East Asia.
Crude tanker Aris is carrying out the current lifting, which is expected to finish on 1 July, with Buru’s 50% share of the oil to amount to approximately 75,000 barrels.
Under a marketing agreement, BP Singapore Pte Ltd has purchased the oil free on board (FOB) from Wyndham and will deliver it to a South East Asian refinery.
Buru noted the FOB price from BP will be based on the average Brent oil price for July.

Japan’s factory output posted the biggest monthly drop in two years in May as China’s COVID-19 lockdowns and semiconductor and other parts shortages hit manufacturers, adding more pressure on an economy struggling to mount a strong recovery.
The decline also highlights the challenge the world’s third-largest economy faces in overcoming supply disruptions and persistently high prices of raw materials and energy that analysts say could weaken global demand.
Factory output slumped a seasonally adjusted 7.2% in May from the previous month, official data showed on Thursday, as production of items such as cars as well as electrical and general-purpose machinery dropped sharply.
