Brisbane-based cryptocurrency exchange Swyftx has fired 90 employees, or 35 per cent of the company’s workforce, ahead of an expected prolonged downturn in crypto sentiment, exacerbated by the recent collapse of global exchange FTX.

Across Markets…
The S&P/ASX 200 jumped 0.3 per cent, or 24.1 points, to 7325.6 on Monday, buoyed by energy and materials stocks which advanced after China eased more COVID restrictions.
Iron ore futures in Singapore rose 2.4 per cent to $US108.45 per tonne, lifting the major miners; Fortescue jumped 6.9 per cent to $21.03, Rio Tinto added 3.7 per cent to $116.13 and BHP firmed 2.3 per cent to $46.81.
Oil prices also rose, boosting the energy sector; Santos climbed 2.7 per cent to $7.34 and Woodside Energy rose 2 per cent to $36.41.
IGO fell 4.9 per cent to $15.54 following a fire at its Nova operation’s power station.
Elders declined 4.6 per cent to $9.92 after UBS downgraded the stock.

In parallel with the mining front-end engineering design study (FEED) for the DSO Project being undertaken by AMC Consultants, Avenira (ASX:AEV) has undertaken a review of its exploration drillhole database.
Assessment of the tenure footprint (100% Avenira) surrounding Wonarah has been undertaken to assess potential extensions at a 27% P2O5 cut-off grade to support the DSO study being undertaken.
This review assessed drillhole intersections of >27% P2O5 mineralisation not contained within the current Mineral Resource Estimate.
Significant intersections include:
- 5m@35.7% P2O5 from 55m in WNRC1525
- 8m@28.2% P2O5 from 47m in WNRC1748; and
- 3m@33.4% P2O5 from 56m in WNRC1754
