What a ridiculously boring day today, as we had less than 1MM minis trade throughout the whole session, including globex. What a joke. At cash close, S&P Futures (ES) are up less than a handle, up .25 at 1838.75 with 941K minis traded. Today’s range and action was a joke. Bonds were sold today, with the 10Y yield climbing to 2.86%.
Today was also January VIX Settlement, which came in at 12.36 after a delay over at CBOE, as discussed this morning. VIX closed almost unchanged, down .23% at 12.84, with a session high at 13.12. VIX futures on the other hand were slammed lower, with the front month down -.30 to 13.80. VIX cash has been hanging around this 13 line for months now, as this action-less market continues.
