This morning, the S&P 500 Index e-mini futures (ES-U3) are trading higher by 2.50 points to 1689.50 per contract. Traders and investors seem to be rejoicing over a stronger USD/JPY currency pair which helped the Nikkei 225 Index trade higher last night. Usually, a stronger USD/JPY will help the global markets as well, but if the USD/JPY starts to decline the major market indexes could come under some selling pressure.
Last night, the leading restaurant stock Yum! Brands Inc (NYSE:YUM) reported weaker than expected sales in China. This news is causing the stock to decline lower by more than 3.0 percent. YUM stock should have some morning volatility. Some other stocks that could be volatile at the start of the day include Digital Generation Inc (NASDAQ:DGIT), and SINA Corp (NASDAQ:SINA).
