S&P 500 Futures: ES Rebounds

Chart courtesy of Scott Redler @RedDogT3$spx futures +6 as the bigger range is defined. Now we see if it constricts a bit. See if it stays above 2879 or not. Resistance above is 2900 then the major is 2935. If the open is sold 2856 is below then 2822-2835 (take trades).

During  Sunday night’s Globex session, the S&P 500 futures gapped lower to open at 2831.00, -24 handles from Friday’s settlement, and traded down to a low at 2810.25 in the first 5 minutes of the session.

Optimistic Trump tweets about a positive conversation with president Xi of China helped propel the futures higher for the rest of the night session, and after printing a high at 2888.50, the ESU opened Monday’s regular trading hours (RTH) at 2872.50, +17 handles.

Once the 8:30 CT bell rang, the ESU did some back and fill down to 2855.25, and that would remain the RTH low. The futures spent the rest of the session grinding higher, but unable to take out the Globex high.

Even when the MiM reveal came out showing just over $400 million to sell MOC, the ES continued to trade higher into the end of the day, printing 2879.50 on the 3:00 cash close, and 2883.25 on the 3:15 futures close, +27.75 handles.
