S&P 500 Futures: Mutual Fund Monday Meets ‘Thin To Win’

Sunday night, the S&P 500 futures (ESH19:CME) printed a high of 2709.25, a low of 2698.00, and opened regular trading hours at 2704.75. The morning high came in late at 2713.75, and the morning low print was at 2697.00 early on. The S&P’s traded 2709.75 on the 10:30 European close, and 2712.75 going into the noon hour.

The early afternoon saw a high of 2719.00 and a low of 2712.25, and in the final hour of the day the ES printed to a new high, rallying up to 2725.00. The ES traded 2717.25 on the 2:45 cash imbalance reveal, 2723.75 on the 3:00 cash close, and settled at 2721.00 on the 3:15 futures close, up +16.75 handles or +0.62%.

In the end, the ES’s overall tone was firm. In terms of the days overall trade, volume was low, with only 980k futures contracts traded.
