Hope everyone in Melbourne had a nice long weekend!
FIN Resources (ASX:FIN) is set to commence a 1,500m maiden diamond drill program at its Cabin Lake gold project in Canada.
The company recently completed re-assaying of historical core, confirming a robust high-grade gold system with standout results including 31.4m at 15.2g/t Au from 17.5m, 8m at 15.7g/t from 22.2m, and 13.9m at 13.21g/t from 27.9m.
The upcoming program will represent the first modern, systematic exploration at the project, which is believed to be analogous to the nearby former Lupin Mine, a 3.3Moz producer at ~10g/t.

Across Markets…
Australian shares are poised to rebound more than 2 per cent as global markets steadied after President Donald Trump told CBS News that he thinks the war against Iran could end soon.
ASX 200 futures were up 184 points or 2.2 per cent to 8751 near 7.15am AEDT. The S&P 500 closed 0.8 per cent higher in New York, paced by information technology. The Dow Jones advanced up 0.5 per cent, recovering more than 110 points from its session low.
The Nasdaq Composite rallied 1.4 per cent as Alphabet and Nvidia paced the Magnificent Seven higher. Volatility fell after having spiked higher earlier.
In a phone interview with CBS, President Trump said: “I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no airforce.” He added that the US is “very far” ahead of his initial four- to five-week estimated timeframe.
G7 finance ministers said they were ready to take any steps needed to support global energy supply, including releasing strategic oil reserves – although the group isn’t at the point of doing so yet.

QMines builds Mount Mackenzie porphyry case with high-grade gold and copper strikes
- QMines records more high-grade gold and copper along with silver at Mount Mackenzie
- One hole intercepted a shallow mineralised interval and a separate high-grade zone at depth
- Results suggest vertical continuity and potential for a porphyry feeder at depth
Special Report: QMines has served up more high-grade gold and copper from drilling at the North Knoll deposit of its Mount Mackenzie project in central Queensland, with one hole piercing a shallow mineralised interval and a separate high-grade zone at depth.
More specifically, the hole returned 15.8m at 2.58g/t gold and 7.1g/t silver from surface, as well as 6m at 10.47g/t Au and 39.7g/t Ag from 118m.
Management noted that the deeper zone marks one of the strongest gold-silver strikes from the current drill program.
It believes the combination of shallow and deeper intercepts demonstrates that the North Knoll corridor can host stacked mineralised positions, with strong grade development not restricted to a single narrow part of the system.
Results from another hole included 19m at 1.13g/t Au and 11.5g/t Ag from 85m, with a richer 5m interval grading 3.46g/t Au and 25.4g/t Ag from 96m.
A separate hole also delivered the strongest copper hit at North Knoll so far, returning 1m at 3.01g/t Au, 93.8g/t Ag and 1.55% Cu from 171m, confirming that high-grade mineralisation is present at deeper levels.
According to QMines (ASX:QML), the results suggest a coherent and vertically extensive magmatic hydrothermal system that remains open along strike and at depth, with multiple interpreted fluid pathways and permeability traps providing clear vectors for follow-up drilling.
The system is also believed to show the geological hallmarks of a potential lithocap sitting above an untested copper and gold porphyry feeder.
“The program was designed to assess whether the high sulphidation system demonstrates meaningful vertical continuity and whether it exhibits a lithocap architecture consistent with the potential for a porphyry feeder at depth,” explained QMines exploration manager Tom Bartschi.
“Importantly, results to date support both interpretations.”
Drilling barrage
Two rigs continue to smash out the metres as part of the company’s 36-hole maiden drilling program at Mount Mackenzie.
The campaign is designed to test for strike and depth extensions of known high-grade gold zones and to better evaluate several untested gold-in-soil anomalies.
The drilling has already returned a series of significant intercepts including 15m at 5.10g/t Au and 34.05g/t Ag from 17m, and 18m at 3.40g/t Au and 28.34g/t Ag from 36m.
Results from another 20 holes remain pending.
These include assays from a hole at the Vein 355 prospect where visible gold was recently logged within a one-metre zone at 11m depth.
Results from past drilling at Vein 355 included 12m at 46.33g/t Au and 6m at 13.34g/t Au.
