A meeting on Wednesday between top U.S. officials and the foreign ministers of Denmark and Greenland appeared to do little to quell President Donald Trump’s ambition of taking over the Danish overseas territory…

Following the White House meeting, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said, “We didn’t manage to change the American position,” before adding, “It’s clear that the president has this wish of conquering over Greenland.”

Australian shares are set to edge modestly higher at the open as futures reversed earlier losses. Shares were lower in New York amid a rotation out of technology stocks into small-cap companies. Bitcoin topped $US97,000.

The US Supreme Court did not issue a ruling on the Trump administration’s tariff policy, pushing a potential decision to next week at the earliest.

“After a four-year period of sideways trading, we’re finally seeing the small-cap Russell 2000 break out above multi-year resistance and attempt to make another leg higher,” Bespoke Investment said in a note.

“The Russell has seen a 14 per cent rally since its fourth-quarter closing low on November 20. Over the same time frame, the large-cap S&P 500 is up just a little over 6 per cent.”

A Bank of America review of trading flows showed that its institutional clients were sellers of US equities for a fourth consecutive week.

European Lithium boosts Tanbreez momentum with mobile rare earths assaying lab

    • European Lithium’s US-listed partner Critical Metals Corp has ordered a mobile rare earths assaying lab to accelerate exploration at its Tanbreez project in Greenland
    • The facility is expected to slash assay turnaround times and minimise delays in the transport of samples
    • It could also support faster data generation for future drilling campaigns and assist in mineral resource evaluation

Special Report: European Lithium’s US-listed partner Critical Metals Corp has ordered a mobile assaying facility to drive exploration efficiency at the Tanbreez rare earths project in Greenland.

The mobile laboratory is designed to deliver real-time, geochemical data directly at the site, producing a full suite of rare earth element results in about 80 minutes.

Its deployment is expected to enhance exploration effectiveness, grade control and operational decision-making at Tanbreez, which European Lithium (ASX:EUR) operates in partnership with Nasdaq-listed Critical Metals Corp (CRML).

The “state-of-the-art” facility could play a key role in supporting the company’s proof-of-concept pilot plant by enabling rapid, laboratory-grade analysis of drill core and pilot plant samples directly at the site.

By reducing reliance on off-site laboratories, the unit is expected to significantly cut assay turnaround times and minimise delays associated with sample transport and quality assurance checks.

It will also support faster data generation for future drilling campaigns and assist in evaluating and potentially expanding the mineral resource at Tanbreez.

The timeliness of information available to management, potential offtake partners and shareholders could also be poised for a shot in the arm.

Importantly, the mobile lab also aligns with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives by reducing transport emissions and handling risk.

European Lithium chairman Tony Sage sees the acquisition as “a transformative milestone for Critical Metals as we propel the Tanbreez rare earths project from exploration into pre mining pilot operations”.
