S&P 500 Futures: Monday Comes In Late In The Week

After a quiet overnight trade going into the NFP number, the S&P 500 futures opened Friday’s 8:30 cash session at 2829.00, up two ticks. The ES went on to make an early low at 2828.00, then chopped around in a tight range, eventually making a 2835.50 first hour high. The mid morning saw back and fill before 10:00 buy programs elevated the equity markets, pushing back up to 2834.50 by the end of the morning.

The afternoon saw a thin to win climb higher, with 2:00 buy programs pushing the ES up to 2840.50 going into the close. There was another buy imbalance at the end of the day, with an MOC of $1.2 billion to buy, and the 3:00 print coming in at 2840.50, before settling the day at 2839.50.25, up +11.00 handles on the day, or +0.40%.
