S&P 500 Futures: Mutual Fund Monday Lives

The S&P 500 futures that traded in a ten handle range on the overnight session opened yesterday’s cash session at 2839.00, down five ticks, and sold off down to a days low of 2835.50, two ticks above the globex low, and then chopped for the first hour, making a high of 2843.50.

Heading into the Euro close, buy programs took over the equity index futures and the ES started a climb higher, up to the July 2849.50 high made two weeks ago. The high of the morning was 2851.50 before early afternoon buy programs pushed the ES up to the day’s high of 2853.50.

After trading down to 2847.00 for the afternoon low, the ES chopped sideways into the close, printing 2850.25 on the cash close, before settling the day at 2850.00, up +9.75 handles on the day, or +0.33%.
