S&P 500 Futures: Buy Russell / Sell Dow

Chart courtesy of Scott Redler @RedDogT3$spx futures +8 as upper ranges tighten up before the G-20 Finishes. We have end of quarter, The Russell rebalance, banks up, $aapl down. The World wants everything for free. I might as well not wake up 4:45 each day.

During Wednesday nights Globex session, the S&P 500 futures printed a high of 2935.75, a low of 2914.75, and opened Thursday’s regular trading hours (RTH) at 2926.25.

The initial move after the 8:30 CT bell took the ESU up 2932..75, 3 handles shy of the Globex high, and then it began to pull back. When a rogue China headline hit the tape just after 10:00, the futures dropped down to 2922.00, and then quickly recovered.

For the rest of the morning, and into the afternoon, the ES slowly rallied, first stopping at 2932.00, and then 2933.50 going into the final hour of trading.

When the 2:45 cash imbalance reveal came out showing $765 million to buy, the futures were trading at 2931.25. They would then go on to print 2928.00 on the 3:00 cash close, and 2931 on the 3:15 futures close, up +13 handles on the day.
